Abbie Lathe recently was announced as one of the winners of the Angelic 'In Her Own Words’ competition with her beautiful song ‘Broken’ with it’s stunning and original vocal arrangement. She is a versatile, accomplished, multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter and inspiring voice workshop leader.
Her singing is regularly featured on BBC wildlife soundtracks (most recently The Big Bear week).
Having completed four national tours and two highly successful albums as one third of 'Maddy Prior and the Girls', Abbie is enjoying a flourishing solo career.
Her fourth album, "Low Summer" released through Angelic Music explores a wider musical theme, blending her folk roots with world music influences to create a more contemporary sound.
The opening track 'New Year's Eve' is a dreamy gentle beginning with Abbie's silky voice accompanied by acoustic guitar and programmed drums.
The muti-voice approach of Broken adds another dimension to her gentle side before Secret Communication with its funkier reggae beat and flute accompaniment has the feet tapping.
Suzanne Vega comes to mind on Therapy before Swallows " (Jon Fletcher), "a track that goes back to Abbie's folkier side. Brilliant album for the open-minded listener.
